Batty for Daddy
Tonight was just magic. There is no other feeling in the world as a parent than being able to successfully put your baby to sleep. Orion was a bit restless before falling asleep tonight but after calming and soothing him, he fell asleep in my arms. Just so fulfilling!
As he was restless, I turned off the lights in the room which helped. Then I laid on the bed and gave him tummy time on my stomach. We could still see each other's faces in the moonlight. He was smiling at me, and of course I was smiling back at him while thinking in my mind that these are the kinds of moments I've waited so long to have with my baby. Just the two of us, under the moon.
Anyway these are a bit late but here are some pics from Orion's first Halloween. I have to put them up now before I put up the next batch of pics this week! His great aunt got him the 'batty for daddy' onesie which I loved. A bit too big for him this year but will definitely fit for the next.

My Favourite Part of the Day
Every minute with Orion is my favourite part of the day but I especially love the morning when he's just waking up. I get up a bit earlier to go down downstairs to the kitchen to get his bottle ready and other things ready for the day.
Then I return upstairs where I walk past his crib to the window to slowly pull the drape up. I can see his head turn and follow me as I walk by him in the dark. It makes me smile. Once the morning light fills the room, I go over to his crib and say with a big smile, "Good morning! Good morning, good morning, good morning!" He smiles, starts babbling and then limbs flail in excitement.
Makes me so happy and the best way to start any day.
